How Different Avatar is to In bruges.

When looking at both films the two are miles apart in all departments for a film. The first thing that Avatar wins in is the director because no offense to In Bruges director Martin McDonagh but James Cameron is well more known because of the films he has directed which includes the hugely impressive Titanic.  Also another huge difference is the budget of the two films where In Bruge was made for 18 million pounds where as Avatar cost around to make the film 230 million dollars and that is massive compared to In Bruges. Another difference is cast but In Bruges has more a lister cast than Avatar with Colin Farrell Ralph Fiennes  and Brendan Glesson. In Avatar the most know actress is Sigourney Weaver. The Reason for the lack of a listers is because most of the money was spent on the technology but the other reason Sigourney Weaver was picked is because James Cameron worked with her in Aliens another film that was a success in the cinemas.

In Bruges Film Production

Film 4  uses a variety of production distributors  like focus features. They did this because they didn't want to take the risk on being on their own and falling flat on their faces so having another distributor would give them confidence in the film. there was another distributor so the film could be thrown out to everyone and get people to like the film so they will watch it. Also the other distributor focus features could also bring in more money to the project to make it look better and get more appeal to the audiences in the cinemas.

Another unique selling point is the country it is set in Bruge  this would attract people from Belgium to watch it also the director can attract audiences who are familiar of him and his work.

research into film audience

The film in Bruges was released in april 2008. it was released during this month because it is during the easter holiday so this will then attract more of an audience. this films main attracted audience was the ages between 15-24 the young adult age because it is an action, comedy so it would be the right age for that target audience to go and see. the film stated out marketed as a independent film but then got the mainstream film because universal distributed the film al around the England and Ireland. the films release type was medium so it was in limited amount of cinemas which suggests that the film wasn't watched by many people. The film came out in april 2008 and wasn't re released.

Football Factory distrubution

When you are distributing films you need a poster to attract your target audience to go watch the film. When you look at football factory's poster you can tell straight away that this film is an action drama film because the way the characters are positioned and they look like they are throwing items and by there facial expressions they look really angry. You can also tell they are all in this gang because they are wearing tracksuits and baseball caps they also all look like chavs. also the colour is red to show anger and blood because of fighting and gangs.
